The short version

Shooter Atlas has no accounts, no comment system and no forms. You can read every page on this site without identifying yourself to it, and the site itself does not set cookies of its own.

What this site collects directly

Nothing. There is no sign-up, no newsletter and no tracking field to fill in. If you send an email to the address on the contact page, then that message and your email address exist in an inbox, and they are kept only as long as needed to answer or to act on a correction.

Hosting

This site is served through Cloudflare's network, which means requests to it pass through Cloudflare infrastructure before they reach you. What Cloudflare processes as a network provider is described in Cloudflare's own privacy policy, which is the authoritative document for that part of the service.

Analytics

Traffic measurement on this site is Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is used to answer three questions: how many people read a page, which pages get read, and which pages get linked to from outside. The beacon that reports this is served by Cloudflare and is visible in the page source of every page here. What that product collects, and how it is handled, is documented by Cloudflare in its own Web Analytics documentation.

Third-party advertising

Shooter Atlas is built to be supported by third-party advertising. That is the funding model, and it is stated here rather than buried.

• When advertising is served on this site, it is served by third-party ad networks. Those networks and the partners they work with may set cookies, or read device and browser identifiers, in order to select which ad to show, to limit how often the same ad is repeated, and to measure whether an ad was seen.
• Advertising scripts are third-party code. This site does not control what an ad network collects inside its own script; what it collects is governed by that network's own privacy policy.
• Where the law in your region requires consent before advertising cookies are set, that consent is requested at the point advertising is loaded, and it can be refused.
• Shooter Atlas does not sell email addresses or any other information you send it. There is nothing to sell: the site holds no user database.

The current build of this page is published before ad serving is switched on, so no ad script is running yet. When networks are added, they are named on this page — a list of unnamed advertisers is not a privacy policy.

Changes to this page

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past, so it stays short on purpose.
